Salary: £50k pa (plus 15% bonus)

Contract type: FTC until Sep 26 (maternity cover)

Working pattern: Full time onsite, Mon – Fri (37.5 hours per week)

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Commercial Controller to join Crown Holdings Inc’s UK operations, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. This role will be pivotal in supporting the UK commercial team under the Swiss Principal business model, which is also implemented across other European countries.

This position is ideal for an independent individual who possesses strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and exceptional organisational abilities. While some experience in finance is essential, you do not need to be a qualified accountant to excel in this role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy of sales and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) data for commercial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Team regarding sales prices, contracts, rebate accruals, and LME/MP reconciliations.
  • Reconcile packaging held at customer locations monthly and recover any identified losses.
  • Work with the Shared Service Centre to enforce credit limits and manage payment follow-ups.
  • Prepare and finalise monthly reports, budgets, and forecasts for UK Commercial Entities.

Required Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance control, or a related field.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Relevant work experience with a solid understanding of Commercial Finance, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in preparing budgets and forecasts, analysing variances, and report writing for management.
  • Familiarity with SAP integrated software is preferred.

  • Data-driven with the ability to conduct variable, fixed costs, and margin analysis.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels and effective presentation abilities.
  • Logical approach to tasks with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organised with effective prioritisation skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to set up macros.
  • Commercially aware with a keen attention to detail.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written; proficiency in an additional European language is a plus.
