What You’ll Be Doing:
- Oversee the school kitchen, ensuring students enjoy tasty, healthy meals
- Manage stock, place orders, and keep the kitchen running smoothly
- Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards
- Lead, motivate, and support your kitchen team
- Create exciting menus that keep students looking forward to lunchtime
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in a school or institutional catering environment.
- NVQ in Cookery or Hospitality (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- ️Lead menu planning, ensuring meals meet nutritional guidelines, dietary needs, and budget constraints.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to inspire and develop staff.
- ️Expertise in food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining the highest standards.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships to secure high-quality ingredients.
- Manage stock, finances, and staff schedules efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a positive dining environment.
- Support the Area Manager, ensuring smooth operation and high service standards.
