Our client aims to provide users with an independent mechanism to dispute social media platform's content moderation decisions. They are dedicated to ensuring that content policies are upheld while offering a fair and consistent approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and moderate user appeals of content moderation decisions across various social media platforms, including text, images, videos, and comments.
  • Assess content to identify and address inappropriate or offensive material, such as hate speech and harassment.
  • Confirm the eligibility of user appeals, considering defined standards and characteristics provided by the appealer and the online platform.
  • Enforce content policies and guidelines by making appropriate moderation decisions, which may involve removing content or escalating borderline violations.
  • Provide feedback on decision-making processes to support quality management and reporting.
  • Build and maintain expertise in content policies through ongoing training programmes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure efficient and high-quality content review.

Requirements:

  • Degree educated, preferably with some specialisation or strong interest in human rights, legal issues, or technology.
  • Professional experience and a strong understanding of the internet and various social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with content policies and moderation is a plus, particularly experience in content moderation for social media platforms.
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of EU/regional current affairs.
  • Familiarity with internet laws, policies, and regulations, including the Digital Services Act.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a focus on empathy and professionalism.
